6th Grade Graduation & 12th Birthday Party With Friends!!!

Kaitlyn's Friends:(left to right)
Holly-our neighbor across the street. Poor thing is in the 5Th grade and didn't know the other girls. She is shy and goes to a different school (Private School), but she got along with everyone. I think she was just shocked at how crazy Kate's friends are.
Jessica-Kaitlyn has known her since Kindergarten. They are really good friends but just don't hang out together that much at recess. I hope they hang out more. She is a good friend.
Ashley M.-This was the 1st time for her to come to our house. Kaitlyn and Ashley M. have become good friends this year since they were in the same class. She is good friends with Jessica.
Kaitlyn- Of Course!
Taylor-She goes to our church. She didn't know the other girls either, but I wasn't worried about her liking everyone. She was the life of the party. She has a lot of energy and a lot of fun. Kaitlyn is going to girls camp with her for 5 days. They are going to have so much fun together. She doesn't go to the same school as Kaitlyn and I wish she did.
Ashlie C.- This is Kaitlyn's best friend. I am glad that they are good friends. She got along with everyone and had a good time.

Last day of school and Kaitlyn had 5 friends over for a swim party and a sleepover. They had the best time. It just so happened that her last day of school was the day before her birthday, so it made her birthday even better.

Watching them, makes me miss my friends and wish I was 12 again. If your reading this Misty, I miss you.

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!!!

Kaitlyn LOVES Taylor Swift. She knows all her songs. They sang a lot of her songs at the party and I thought their hand motions to the song was cute.

2008 School Talent Show "All American Cuties"

The girls named their group "All American Cuties".
If you look close, their shirts say it too. In her group, it was Kaitlyn, her best friend Ashlie (6th Grade), Ashlie's sister Alexis (5th grade), then Alexis' friends, Maddie W (5th Grade), and Maddie G (5th Grade). Ashlie and Alexis' mom learned this dance when she was in the 7th grade and taught it to the girls. They had to try out for the talent show a month ago and they made it. They had a great time and were so happy when they made the talent show.

Here Is Our......6th Grade Graduate......Kaitlyn

I can't believe she is done with the 6th grade. Seems like she just turned 4 and was starting preschool. Now here she is, moving onto Middle School. Yikes!!! Kaitlyn is growing into such a beautiful young lady. She is so full of life, good self esteem, faces her own fears, a great daughter, sister, granddaughter, neice, cousin, and friend. We are very proud of you Kaitlyn. Keep up the hard work.
As my mom and I were leaving the graduation, we were remembering how fast time goes by. We were talking about Kate and when she was born. She was born 3 1/2 weeks early. Weighing only 5 lbs 12 oz. 18 inches long. (she left the hosptial weighing 5 lbs 6 oz.) She was so tiny. When I had her, I was told that she probably wouldn't breath on her own and would have to stay a while in the hospital. So, I prepared myself for the worst. But I just knew it would all be o.k. And look at her now. She was a stubborn little thing. Just like she is now. Something never changes. When she was born, she refused to eat. I tried and tried, the doctors and nurses tried and tried too to get her to eat. She wanted nothing to do with it. She wanted to just sleep. Since I had a C- section, I stayed 3 days in the hospital, but Kaitlyn had to stay 1 more day in the hospital than I did because she was loosing weight from not eating. I had to go home without my baby. It was very hard to leave her there. The nurses worked with her all that night after I went home and they couldn't get her to eat. The next day after going home, Jason, my mom and I went to the hosptial, determined to take her home. We knew that we could get her to eat. We told the doctor that we would try our best to wake her and get her to eat, if they let me take her home. And they did! I woke her every 2 hours by changing her and putting cold wipes on her. I set my alarm clock every 2 hours, to wake up to feed her in the middle of the night and if I didn't, she would sleep through the night. I did this for a month and all of a sudden, she decided that she liked being awake and eating. From then on, she has been growing and doing just great. We are proud of our little girl!!!

Our Graduate!!!

Taken before going to her Graduation.
I got tears in my eyes when I dropped her off at school this morning.
Taken at school after the Graduation.

Kaitlyn with her best friend Ashlie. This year Kate and Ashlie became really good friends and Kaitlyn really needed it. Ashlie is very smart and a nice girl. Her and Kate have a lot in common. Kaitlyn has had a really hard time finding a true friend that is like her and is a good example. Ashlie is a great friend to Kaitlyn. They have a lot of fun together. Aren't they cute? Watch out boys!!!

These are some of the kids that she has been going to school with since Kindergarten. Boy have they grown up!

Kaitlyn Graduating! I got tears in my eyes and still do when I watch this. And this is just 6th grade graduation! What will I do when she graduates from high school? I recorded this with my camcorder. Then I came home and played it on my T.V. and then I held my camera up to the T.V. and recorded it with my camera recorder. So it isn't a very good recording. But you get the idea.

Some of the 6th graders tried out to play "Amazing Grace" with their recorders a few weeks ago before the Graduation. Kaitlyn made it. They all started learning how to play the recorder in the 4th grade. They sure have improved. They sounded so beautiful. My eyes swelled with tears hearing all of them play.

Kaitlyn's 6th Grade 50's Dance At School

At school, some of the 6th graders preformed in a 50's dance. Kate had a great time rehearsing for 4 weeks for it. It was her first time dancing with a boy. She didn't mind. She had a great time. She loves doing things like this. We were kind of far away from the preformance, but you can still see Kaitlyn. Lexie was having a hard time seeing and wanted me to hold her, so you will see the camera pull away for a second. Nana, Lexie and myself went to see her preform. Good Job Kate!!!

50's Day At Kate & Dillon's School

Kaitlyn and Dillon wearing 50's clothes for 50's day at school. There school turned 50 years old. The crazy thing about it, is that their Nana, Grandpa, Great Aunt, Uncle and myself all went to the same elementary school. So my kids are 3rd generation students there. My kids have even had some of the same teachers that I had when I went to school there. Some are retiring this year though. And that's a good thing.

Kate and Dillon were all ready for school and I wanted to take a quick picture of them in their 50's outfit, but Lexie wanted in on the picture too. Can't leave her out. She just woke up and was in her jammies.

Unfortunaly Kate's poodle skirt that she had from Halloween 2 years ago didn't fit her anymore. But she still looked cute for 50's day. Her nana is in the process of making her another skirt for future use.

Kate, Lexie and Dillon Christmas 2007

I had to post this picture, even though it was taken on Christmas 2007, because I thought it was a cute picture of all 3 of them. Can't wait for some "summer fun" pictures to take.

New To This..........

I've been hearing about this whole "Blog Thing" and thought that I would finally take the time to finally try it out. I am hoping to use this Blog as a family journal. I only wish I would of started this along time ago. It will be fun logging in all of our family memories.

The Hooley Family

This is a picture of us at the San Francisco Zoo.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn is almost 12. She is such a beautiful young lady. She is so talented. She loves to sing and dance. She sings in a children's choir. They just finished the season and they had a beautiful concert. She is about to graduate from the 6th grade. And she will be going to Young Women's soon. Seems like she just started Kindergarten. She made the talent show again this year at school. She is so brave to get up in front of her whole school. This year she is dancing with some friends, but last year, she sang a song all by herself. She isn't afraid to try anything new. That is such a great quality to have.

Dillon

Dillon is 8 and was baptized in March. He is all Boy!! He loves all sports. Even when he is in the house,(which isn't very often) you can find him watching ESPN. He never was into cartoons. He is very busy with baseball right now. He is getting better at it all the time. He loves to be outside, loves to get dirty, and is non-stop fun. He is so easy going and just a happy child.

Alexis

Alexis is 4 and always keeps us laughing. She stays very busy trying to keep up with her sister and brother. She isn't afraid to try anything. She also likes to sing. She mimics her sister a lot. Maybe to much. When her sister is learning a dance or a song, expect Lexie to be right there beside her learning it too. She will be starting preschool in the fall. She is ready and really wants to go to preschool. I am just not ready for her to go yet. She is my baby.
